The coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan, China, is still a rapidly evolving situation. On Thursday 30 January 2020 the World Health Organization declared this as a global health emergency and in response, the four UK Chief Medical Officers raised the risk to the public from low to moderate. It is being led by Public Health England (PHE).

- Two cases of novel Coronavirus have been confirmed in England. The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has now confirmed that as of 4 February, a total of 416 UK tests have concluded, of which 414 were confirmed negative and 2 positive. DHSC will be publishing updated data on this page on a daily basis at 2pm until further notice.
- Based on current evidence, Novel Coronavirus (2019N-CoV) presents with flu-like symptoms including a fever, a cough, or difficulty breathing.
