Work completed at new commercial site in south Shrewsbury, with Starbucks now open

Morris Property has successfully completed construction work at the new Hazledine Park in Shrewsbury and handed the site back to Shropshire Council.

The council instructed the prominent new development which has transformed a former Pitch and Putt site into the new Hazledine Park, featuring three key buildings housing food and retail space, plus 100 shared car parking spaces.

The scheme comprises a Starbucks and KFC drive-through, together with five additional retail units, four of which are currently under offer. The new Starbucks opened yesterday, 4 September [2026], with KFC scheduled to open on 14 September.

Roger Evans, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for finance, said:

“We commissioned this development to serve the needs of the growing community on the south side of Shrewsbury. And ’m pleased that Morris Property has completed their work on site and handed it back to the council . With one unit now open, one set to open soon, and more to follow we’re confident that the site will be popular and well used and help to benefit the local economy – as well as raising additional income for Shropshire Council.”

The new park can be accessed via Oteley Road and all the units have excellent visibility, spacious open-plan interiors, abundant natural light, and the potential for outdoor seating areas.
