The series has won internationally-acclaimed competitions, including the prestigious Lifeframer Series Award. It also reached the finals of The Sony World Photo Awards, and their work was exhibited at Somerset House, London.

Vanessa said:-

“It’s been amazing seeing our work shown all over the world, but there’s nothing like bringing it home. A lot of the work was shot in Shropshire – we really wanted to showcase how magical Shropshire is.”

The exhibition is inspired by ancient English folklore. The pair set about creating their own modern myths and legends, focusing particularly on woodland areas. Woodlands and, in particular, oaks, are often associated with folklore and magic.

The images feature the world around them, but distort it into a new realm that didn’t exist.

The exhibition is open now until Friday 30 June 2023, and is free to view.
