There’s lots for all the family to see and do at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery this half-term –  including the last chance to see the ‘Valhalla – life and death in Viking Britain’ exhibition.

The Valhalla exhibition is returning home to York after its last day on 5 June. Before it departs, you can join a special story tour, make a Viking long boat in a drop-in craft sessions and take part in a Viking trail.

There’ll also be the chance to join award-winning storyteller Jake Evans on a story tour around the museum as he weaves a magical selection of stories inspired by the items on display.

Jake has been a professional storyteller for three years and regularly works at festivals, schools, hospitals and many more events and venues across the country. He has performed in Kenyan schools, and was awarded the ‘National Young Storyteller of the Year’ title in 2014. This summer he will be working with a dramatic arts company in Singapore.

Jake always brings energy and excitement to his performances and never, ever tells boring stories!

Tours will be held on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 May at 11am and 2pm. They last 45 minutes, are suitable for all ages, and there’s no need to book

There’ll also be drop-in craft every day from 11am to 3pm during half-term, when children will be able to make a Viking long boat!
