South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare, alongside Shropshire Council’s library service, are offering people the chance to try creative writing next month (May 2012) as part of their ‘Writing the Future’ project.

The free courses are open to everyone and require no previous experience, as author Nicholas Corder will be there to guide people through the process.

They will take place in The Lantern in Shrewsbury on Wednesdays 9, 16 and 23 May 2012 from 10.30am until 1pm.

Steve Charmley, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member with responsibility for libraries, said:

“These sessions are open to everyone, offering you a great chance to meet new people, have some fun and learn something new.”

Karen Burgoyne, local Shropshire Councillor for Sundorne, said:

“This is a really amazing opportunity for budding writers in the local area, who don’t have the confidence to put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboards.  Who knows, we may be helping the next JK Rowling or Dan Brown!”

Places are free but limited, so it is important to book by contacting the library on 01743 210810 or via harlescott.library@shropshire.gov.uk
