Head to Greenacres Farm for unique Christmas gifts

Shoppers looking for last-minute unique Christmas gifts can head to Greenacres Farm in Walford Heath this week.

Handmade wreaths, pickles, jams and chutneys are among the items on sale.

Greenacres Farm is a 16-acre smallholding run by Shropshire Council, providing employment and work experience for adults with learning disabilities.

Councillor Steve Charmley, Shropshire Council Cabinet member responsible for disability, said:

“We would urge people to head to Greenacres to meet the staff, have fun, and find some fantastic produce and products this Christmas.  I know our dedicated team at the farm will offer a warm welcome to all visitors.”

Shropshire councillor for Ruyton and Baschurch, Aggie Caesar-Homden, said:

“I hope that people will take the opportunity to visit the farm this week and see the fantastic work they do.  As a local councillor, I am very proud of the achievements of Greenacres Farm, both with regards to increasing employment opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and the brilliant contribution the farm makes to the local community and economy.”

The farm is open from Tuesday 20 December 2011 to Friday 23 December 2011 from 9.30am to 4pm each day.

To get to Greenacres, follow the brown signs at Walford Heath on the B5067.
