Tern Valley Business Park ready for business

Fully serviced development plots are now for sale at the eagerly-awaited Tern Valley Business Park at Market Drayton, following the completion of the second phase of the site.

Shropshire Council has invested over £3.5m in the scheme in land purchase, site levelling and providing services.

The site comprises 5.5ha (13.5 acres) and is available for the development of offices, light industry, general industry, storage and distribution uses (B1, B2, and B8).

Phase two follows the success of the first phase of the business park, which is home to Müller Dairy.

It will cater for the needs of expanding local businesses and new inward investment. Companies will benefit from flexible plot sizes, and development suited to their business needs.

A planning and development brief is available and stipulates that new development should meet the new BREEAM environmental standard for eco-efficiency and sustainability in construction.

Tern Valley is situated on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border and is just 15 miles from the M6, giving easy access to a range of major cities, including Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Stoke. The site is within an hour’s drive of four international airports, five world-leading research intensive universities, and a population catchment of more than 10 million people.

The combination of Market Drayton’s historic character, the tranquillity of North Shropshire’s rural hinterland, and the proximity and easy access to some of the UK’s most modern and vibrant cities makes Market Drayton the ideal site for business.

Councillor Mike Owen, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for economy and waste said:

”The council’s investment at Tern Valley demonstrates our commitment to stimulating jobs and business in the county and our market towns in particular during these difficult economic times. I’m delighted that this site is now available and ready for business.

“The investment in Market Drayton is part of the council’s commitment to investing in our market towns to stimulate investment and to provide local jobs. We have had much interest in the site from a number of local companies wishing to expand on Tern Valley and welcome interest from businesses of all types and sizes.”

David Minnery, Shropshire Councillor for Market Drayton West, said:

“I am really pleased to see that another important investment in jobs in Market Drayton is now ready to be launched and I look forward to seeing more local jobs provided as businesses move in.”

Roger Hughes, Shropshire Councillor for Market Drayton West, said:

“This is a uniquely situated site in a location close to major manufacturing centres and markets in the West Midlands, the Northwest and North Wales, which will create exciting investment and employment opportunities.”

Plots are available on 999 year leases. For more information, and for sales particulars, please contact Richard Edwards at Shropshire Council on 01743 252378.
