Mulithogs to repair more potholes in July

A Multihog in action
Shropshire Council’s two Multihog road planer machines will be tackling more potholes on roads across Shropshire throughout July [2026].
The Multevo Multihog planes off the road surface to enable a squared-off hole to be filled by a following gang. It’s quicker than having to saw-cut and break-out the defective road by hand – tackling potholes and other defects more quickly and effectively.
In July the Multihogs and their crews are set to treat the following roads.
Multihog 1
- Thursday 2 July – Coton Lane, Alveley
- Tuesday 7 July – Yockleton Road to Brook House junction, Shrewsbury
- Tuesday 14 July – School House Farm junction to Nox junction, Shrewsbury
- Friday 24 July – B4386, Cruckton junction to A458
Multihog 2
- Monday 13 July – A53 junction, Market Drayton to A41 junction Tern Hill
- Monday 27 July – Ebnal Lodge junction to St Martins Road, B5069 junction (Section 1)
- Friday 31 July – Iron Mills To Ebnal Lodge junction, Gobowen (Section 2)
Work is carried out on weekdays only, between 9.30am and 4pm.
Each Multihog can treat 9,000m² of road each month, reduces the likelihood of potholes forming in the short-to-medium term, and cuts down on the need for road closures.
