Video: Launch of new Whitchurch – Market Drayton – Wellington bus service
The new 340 bus service between Whitchurch, Market Drayton, the Princess Royal Hospital and Wellington bus station began operating on 5 January [2026] and was officially launched at Market Drayton bus station on 29 January. See video below.
The service links the three towns and includes stops at Princess Royal Hospital and Telford College, as well as providing access to Wellington and Whitchurch railway stations.
Buses operate Monday to Saturday, starting at 7.05am from Whitchurch to Market Drayton then Wellington. The service from Wellington to both towns starts at 7.10am. The last bus from both Wellington and Whitchurch will be at 6.40pm.
The service is operated by D&G Buses and is funded from the council’s allocation of Government bus service improvement funding for the year 2025/26.

The launch event was attended by Tom Dainty, Shropshire Councillor for Market Drayton East and Rural; Rob Wilson, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for transport and economic growth; Tim Manton, Market Drayton town councillor and Mayor; and Helen Morgan MP (pictured).
