Need farming business support?
Speak to a farmer, and he or she will tell you that one of the main challenges for the business today is dealing with all the paperwork required by the regulatory bodies governing British agriculture. How do you keep up with it all and take your business forward at the same time?
Shropshire Rural Hub, working in partnership with Shropshire Council, is hoping to provide a solution by organising the Shropshire Rural Hub Business Advice Day this Thursday 27 October 2011.
Around 30 organisations, offering a range of support, will be on hand to give advice and guidance. This free event is being held at Greenhous Meadow Stadium, Oteley Road, Shrewsbury, from 12noon – 8pm, and invites farmers to ‘drop in’ at any point through the day.
Specialist drop-in clinics are being held throughout the day for farmers requiring help with the completion of their Soil Protection Reviews, NVZ records, other Cross Compliance elements, and online submission of forms (inc VAT and SPS). Stands representing all aspects of rural business including business development, livestock record keeping (computerised and manual), cross compliance, accounting and legal will all be present.
Councillor Mike Owen, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member with responsibility for business support, said:
“This event will offer essential support to our farmers who are key to a successful economy, especially in a rural county such as ours.
“I’d like to encourage as many farmers as possible to come along and experience all the help on offer.”
Victoria Jones of the Shropshire Rural Hub, said:
“I’m delighted that we are able to bring all of these organisations together in one place, on one day, to offer a ‘one stop shop’ for farmers. Time is precious, particularly when you’re a farmer, so we hope to offer a convenient solution to many issues faced as a 21stt Century farmer.”
