Closure of Moreton Mill East Bridge for masonry repairs

Related topics: Highways, transport and environmental maintenance / Partner organisations

Due to planned repair work, Moreton Mill East Bridge – which carries an unclassified road over the river Roden – is set to be closed to traffic from Thursday 27 October to Friday 28 October 2022 from 9.30am to 4pm.

The work will involve masonry repairs to the downstream parapet.

To carry out the proposed work safely it will be necessary to close the bridge to vehicular traffic.

When the bridge is closed, traffic will be diverted via the A53 and local roads by a signed diversion route

Access over the bridge for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will remain available throughout the work.

Inevitably there will be some disruption during the work, and we thank people for their understanding.

The work will be carried out by the council’s term maintenance contractor Kier, with supervision being provided by WSP on behalf of Shropshire Council.
