Severn Trent Water to carry out work in Woore from 21 to 24 July
Severn Trent Water will be installing some new connections on the water network, on behalf of the housing development on London Road, Woore, from 21 to 24 July [2022].
To minimise disruption, they’ll be working alongside a third party who will be making a new sewer connection to the development at the same time.
Shropshire Council also plans to undertake essential safety work at the same time to minimise any future disruption.
To carry out the work a small section of London Road will have to be closed, to keep residents and the workforce safe. This is approximately 350m north of the Junction with Gravenhunger Lane.
Access to properties will be maintained and a signposted diversion for through traffic will be in place.
Work has been arranged to take place in the school summer holidays to further reduce disruption.
Map of the road closure and diversion
It has been recognised that Gravenhunger lane (a designated “Quiet Lane”) could potentially be attractive as a potential “cut through” for through traffic during the closure period. To mitigate any potential safety issues due to unsuitable or excess traffic, a temporary legal order “No Through Route – Access Only” will be in place for the duration of the road closure. This will be monitored by Severn Trent’s traffic management operatives during working hours.
It’s suggested that local businesses advise staff and suppliers of the proposed dates and advising/providing them with alternative routes.
Severn Trent say:
“We know that our work can be a nuisance but please be assured that we, and our contract partners, will do everything we can to minimise any disruption and complete the work quickly and safely. We apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause.”
“We’re taking measures to ensure there’s no interruption to water supplies during this work.
“We’ll do our very best to complete the work in this timeframe, subject to any serious unforeseen complications onsite.”
