Allum Bridge to close for essential repairs
Allum Bridge will be closed from 7 November 2016 for up to a week to enable essential repairs to be carried out.
The bridge carries the unclassified road off the A442 near Alveley.
The work involves rebuilding the upstream parapet and pilaster and reinstating the timber post and rail fence which was damaged by vehicle impact.
The bridge must be closed to traffic while the work is being carried out as it is too narrow for the work to be carried out safely with the bridge open to traffic.
When the road is closed, traffic will be diverted via the A442 and A458.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will remain available at the bridge throughout the works.
