Half-term fun at Severn Valley Country Park
Staff at Severn Valley Country Park are currently preparing for October half-term 2015. The rangers are getting ready for a number of fun-filled children’s events.
Throughout the half-term week we will have our self-guided Halloween Trail. Follow our terrifying trail around the park, and see if you can solve the creepy clues to win a prize. Available every day from the Visitor Centre 11am – 3pm. Trail maps are £2 each.
On Wednesday 28 October 2015 there will be two sessions all about hibernating hedgehogs: 10am-12 midday, and 1.30pm-3.30pm. Come along and learn all about the wonderful hedgehog. Cuan House Wildlife Rescue will be bringing some baby hedgehogs and talking about how to encourage them in your garden. There will be an opportunity to make your very own clay hedgehog and have a go at hedgehog hand prints. Take a walk with our ranger to look at where hedgehogs hibernate, and make a warm shelter for them in the woods.
Booking is essential and you can call 01746 781192 to book your place. The cost is £4.50 per child (adults free); this includes a donation to Cuan House Wildlife Rescue, and under 8s must be accompanied by an adult.
On Friday 30 October, 4.30pm – 6.30pm, we have a lantern making session for Halloween Eve. Make your own lantern in the centre and join us for a walk around our spooky woods with our lanterns lit on a lantern parade. You never know what you might meet. Children £5 each, adults free. Booking and payment in advance essential. Price includes a sandwich, pizza slice, a fairy cake and a drink. Please wrap up warm, wear wellies and bring a torch. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
To book your place on our events please ring us on 01746 781192.
The visitor centre and tea shop will be open every day between Saturday 24 October 2015 and Sunday 1 November 2015 from 11am-5pm. Tasty cakes, made to order sandwiches, homestyle soup and many other delicious snacks will be available daily.
