Central planning committtee – decisions 7 March 2013
The following planning decisions were made by Shropshire Council’s central planning committee at its meeting on Thursday 7 March 2013 in Shrewsbury.
Land Adjacent Field House, Shepherds Lane, Bicton – 12/03553/FUL
Erection of 3 no. dwellings; formation of vehicular access, amenity space and associated works.
Decision: Application withdrawn by the applicant.
Land to rear 110-112 London Road, Shrewsbury – 12/03556/FUL
Erection of three residential dwellings with integral garages; formation of vehicular access following demolition of existing garage.
Decision: Consideration deferred to the next meeting to allow further consultations with local residents.
Proposed Residential Development, Land West of The Gables, Nesscliffe – 12/04425/OUT
Outline application (all matters reserved) for residential development to include affordable housing (resubmission).
Decision: Consideration deferred to the next meeting to enable further discussions with the parish council in respect of the SAMDev process.
Old ROC Post, Church Road, Dorrington – 12/04666/VAR
To vary condition no.1 (approved plans); 2 (personal occupation); 3 (land restoration); 4 (non-commercial use); 6 (number of caravans) and 7 (size of caravans) attached to 07/1222F to allow for siting of additional caravans for occupation by any gypsytraveller.
Split decision:
Variation of Conditions nos. 1, 4, 6 and 7 approved – in accordance with the Officer’s recommendations.
Variation of Condition no. 2 refused – contrary to the Officer’s recommendations, subject to the condition being amended to read:
“The occupation of the site hereby permitted shall be carried on only by Mr W Evans and Mrs M Evans, and Mr J Evans and Mrs L Evans and their dependent children.
Reason: The permission is granted exceptionally and only in view of the personal circumstances of the applicants and in accordance with their status as gypsies.
Variation of Condition no. 3 refused – contrary to the Officer’s recommendations.
Residential Development, Land off St Andrews Road, Shrewsbury – 12/04677/FUL
Erection of three detached dwellings; associated parking and double garages.
Decision: Consideration deferred to the next meeting to explore alterations to the orientation/layout of Plot A to address the concerns of overlooking and loss of privacy expressed by the resident of 22 Worthington Drive.
35-43 Nettles Lane, Shrewsbury – 12/04827/FUL
Change of use from office and workshop space into residential development (nine apartments).
Decision: Approved, subject to S106 agreement to secure the provision of an affordable unit on site and an affordable housing contribution – in accordance with the Officer’s recommendations, subject to an additional condition covering the provision for the storage of waste and recycling containers.
Land East of Horseshoes Inn, Uckington – 12/05022/FUL
Erection of a detached 3 bedroom dwelling for use in connection with equine business; installation of septic tank drainage system.
Decision: Refused – in accordance with the Officer’s recommendations.
Proposed Poultry Units, Yockleton – 12/05179/EIA
Erection of two chicken sheds each housing (maximum) 45,000 birds; associated hard standing, feed bins, dirty water storage tank, access improvement and landscaping works.
Decision: Approved – in accordance with the Officer’s recommendations.
Shropshire Council Weeping Cross Depot, Cantlop, Shrewsbury – 12/05242/OUT
Outline application for the erection of an Operations Depot to include means of access and layout.
Decision: Approved – in accordance with the Officer’s recommendations.
nb Officers were asked to explore whether additional landscaping could be provided to increase the screening of the site to include a bund to accommodate the concerns expressed by the occupiers and users of neighbouring properties.
