Related topics: Leisure, culture and heritage

Artists, and community and voluntary art organisations, are invited to attend an arts and festivals network event on Monday 25 March 2013 at The Talbot Theatre, Whitchurch from 6.30pm.

The event will feature a number of presentations, including:

  • Taster puppetry performance workshop, led by Fetch Theatre.  The taster workshop will be a fun and interactive introduction to Bunraku puppetry.  Gain new skills in how to begin to tell stories without words, how to use your emotions to bring inanimate objects to life, how to use body language to communicate with a range of people, and many other transferable skills.
  • Update on both the Talbot Theatre’s and Blackberry Fairs arts programmes, and plans for community projects in the future.

Throughout the evening artists will have the opportunity to network and exchange ideas and information.

Mike Owen, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member responsible for culture, said:

“Come along to mingle and chat with other artists and people interested in the arts in your area.  Find out what is happening in Whitchurch with the Blackberry Fair and learn some new puppetry skills.”

Gerald Dakin, Shropshire Councillor for Whitchurch South, said:

“This a good opportunity for local people and their families to be entertained and take an active part at this event.  There is also the chance to get updated on further Blackberry Fair activities in Whitchurch.”
