Available exclusively to those aged 17 and under, the six-week pass costs just £35 and provides access to a variety of activities at the centre, including junior gym sessions, the swimming pool, football, squash and more – all designed to keep teenagers active, healthy and entertained throughout the school break.

The pass has been introduced to give teenagers an affordable and flexible way to stay active during the long summer holidays, while providing opportunities to try new sports, improve fitness and spend time with friends in a safe and welcoming environment.

Rhys Collins, Contract Manager for SpArC Bishops Castle Leisure Centre, said:

“The summer holidays can be a challenging time for parents looking to keep young people active and engaged. This six-week pass offers incredible value and gives teenagers the freedom to take part in a range of activities throughout the break. Whether they enjoy swimming, team sports, gym sessions or simply want to try something new, there’s something for everyone.”

Cllr Sarah Marston, Portfolio Holder for Communities & Environment, said:

We want every young person in Shropshire to have opportunities to be active, build confidence and enjoy time with friends. This affordable pass is a welcome way for under 18s in Bishop’s Castle and the surrounding area to make the most of SpArC’s facilities throughout the summer holidays.”

Cllr Ruth Houghton, portfolio holder for social care and locl councillor for Bishop’s Castle, added:

“This is a great offer for young people under aged 17 to enjoy 6 weeks of sport and swimming over the school holidays and beyond at SpArC in Bishop’s Castle at a very competitive price. Use of the centre is a great way to keep active and the pool an ideal place to cool off over the Summer”

The pass is available to new junior members only and can be purchased in-centre only until Friday 28 August.

SpArC Bishops Castle Leisure Centre is operated by Shropshire Community Leisure Trust in partnership with Serco Leisure on behalf of Shropshire Council.
