Shropshire EV charging network users advised of forthcoming tariff review

Shropshire Council has been informed by its electric vehicle (EV) charging partner, Connected Kerb, that it intends to review charging tariffs across its network due to significant increases in electricity network costs.

Connected Kerb has advised that increases in national electricity transmission and distribution charges – introduced from April 2026 – have substantially increased the cost of operating public EV charging infrastructure. The company is currently reviewing the impact of these costs and expects to confirm any changes to charging tariffs by 10 September 2026.

Any revised tariffs would take effect no earlier than 14 September 2026.

At this stage, no final tariff levels have been confirmed.

Connected Kerb has advised that it continues to explore options to minimise the impact on customers, including negotiating new energy supply arrangements and offering lower-cost charging options through its smart charging services and loyalty programmes.
