Multihogs to repair potholes across Shropshire this month

A Multihog in action in south Shropshire
Shropshire Council’s two Multihog road planer machines will be tackling more potholes on roads across Shropshire throughout this month [June 2026].
The Multevo Multihog planes off the road surface to enable a squared-off hole to be filled by a following gang. It’s quicker than having to saw-cut and break-out the defective road by hand – tackling potholes and other defects more quickly and effectively.
In June the Multihogs and their crews are set to treat the following roads.
Multihog 1
- Monday 1 June – B4367, Clungunford to Hopton Heath
- Wednesday 10 June – Melverley Road End to Pentre Industrial Estate
- Thursday 11 June – Oswestry District Boundary, Pentre to Wilcott Crossroads
- Monday 15 June – Clay Lane, Seifton
- Wednesday 24 June – Wood Green junction to Upper Farm junction, Rushton
- Thursday 25 June – Upper Farm junction, Rushton to end of 30mph Rural Cottages, Eaton Constantine
- Monday 29 June – Eaton Constantine, junction B5480 to end of 30mph Rural Cottages
Multihog 2
- Monday 1 June – Fishmore Road End to Lodge Court Farm junction, Ludlow
- Monday 8 June – Aston Cross junction A5 to junction for Inglewood
- Wednesday 10 June – Junction for Inglewood to Oil Terminal junction B5009
- Monday 15 June – C2073, from Weston junction, Marchalmley to Shrewsbury Road
Work is carried out on weekdays only, between 9.30am and 4pm.
Each Multihog can treat 9,000m² of road each month, reduces the likelihood of potholes forming in the short-to-medium term, and cuts down on the need for road closures.
