Road near Bucknell to close for retaining wall repairs

The C6208 will be closed from 13 to 31 July [2026] from the A488 New Invention to the Lower Lye Junction – for work on a collapsed retaining wall.
The scheme will involve the removal of the collapsed retaining wall, construction of a new concrete footing, rebuilding of the retaining wall, installation of parapet fencing, and reinstatement of the highway verge and carriageway.
To carry out the work safely, it will be necessary to close the road to vehicular traffic on a 24-hour basis for the duration of the works. During this time, traffic will be diverted via a signed diversion route. Further information is available at: https://one.network/?tmi=GB44967869
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will not be available throughout the works, although access to properties will be maintained up to the closure points.
We appreciate that these works may cause some disruption and apologise in advance for any inconvenience. Every effort will be made to minimise disruption wherever possible.
The work will be undertaken by Shropshire Council’s term maintenance contractor, Kier, with supervision provided by WSP on behalf of Shropshire Council.
Advance warning signs will be installed on site, and information letters will be distributed to local residents.
