Shropshire Fostering launches new video

Shropshire Fostering has today (Friday 17 November 2023) launched a new video to highlight the great work Shropshire foster carers do across the county with the aim to find new carers.

The recruitment video reaches out to anyone who wants to give a local child a loving, safe and nurturing home, and is looking to attract a diverse range of carers.

The video is a short and animated, which follows the story of a young boy who becomes a long-term foster child and amid all the uncertainty, he slowly builds a connection with his foster carers and becomes more settled over time.

Kirstie Hurst-Knight, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for children and education, said:-

“We are delighted to highlight the great work that our foster carers do in positively changing the lives for children across the county. It’s great to also be using new innovative mediums to get this message out there and link in with local people who are keen to become future foster carers.

“Our fostering team wanted to demonstrate that children will have a lot of needs, and for many they will need additional support at a traumatic time in their lives, they will need to rebuild bonds and attachments. Viewers who watch the video will learn that they need to be supportive and patient if they are considering fostering.

“The rural areas in Shropshire are highlighted in this new video through its nature to represent fostering within Shropshire and keeping families together. We are really excited to bring this vision to life with the guarantee it will be taken as positive and emotive to the people living within Shropshire, and I look forward to your support on our new video.
