Notice published for Cleobury Mortimer neighbourhood plan referendum

On 7 December [2023] residents in Cleobury Mortimer will have the opportunity to vote whether or not to adopt a neighbourhood plan – with the notice of election published on 2 November.

A neighbourhood plan gives local communities an opportunity to have a direct impact on shaping their neighbourhood’s growth and development.

Residents will be asked the following question:-

“Do you want Shropshire Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Cleobury Mortimer to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?

Photo ID or a voter authority certificate will be needed to vote at a polling station.

The referendum area is identical to the area which has been designated as the Cleobury Mortimer neighbourhood area.

The key dates are:

Polling day: Thursday 7 December.

Deadline for registering to vote: Tuesday 21 November. Go to Register to vote – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Deadline for postal vote applications: 5pm on Wednesday 22 November. Go to Postal and proxy voting | Shropshire Council
