Related topics: Highways, transport and environmental maintenance / Partner organisations

Shell Brook Bridge – which carries the ‘unclassified’ road Pant Lane over Llanyfelin Brook – is to close from 26 to 30 June [2023] for repair work.

The work will involve repairs to the masonry parapet and scour protection of the upstream left and right training walls, and general vegetation removal from the structure.

To carry out the work safely it will be necessary to close the bridge 24/7 to vehicular traffic. The normal working hours will be between 8am and 4pm.

When the bridge is closed, traffic will be diverted by a signed diversion route.

Access over the bridge for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will remain available throughout the proposed work.

Every effort will be made to to minimise any disruption.

The work will be carried out by Shropshire Council’s term maintenance contractor Kier, with supervision being provided by WSP on behalf of Shropshire Council.
