Related topics: Corporate / Democracy / Finance and budget

Do you live in Shropshire and have practical experience in financial management or accountancy?

We’re looking for just such a person to join our Audit Committee as a co-opted independent member.

This rewarding voluntary role plays a significant part in the council’s governance, and through the committee’s work you’ll provide independent and high-level focus on the council’s audit, assurance and reporting arrangements, as well as independently reviewing our governance, risk management and control frameworks, and overseeing the financial reporting and annual governance processes.

While the successful person won’t be a staff member or Shropshire Councillor, they will receive specific training to support them in their new role. The role does not receive any allowance, but you will be reimbursed for expenses.

Apply now here.

Closing date for applications is Friday 20 January 2023.
