Stabilisation works on the B4373 Ironbridge Road, Broseley

Related topics: Highways, transport and environmental maintenance / Partner organisations

Stabilisation works are being carried out on the B4373 Ironbridge Road, Broseley from 12 September [2022] for 14 weeks, with a target completion date of 16 December.

The work involves reinstating the slipped embankment, new drainage system and reinstatement of the carriageway.

To undertake the work and minimise disruption, the road will be closed for 24 hours a day for seven weeks – from 31 October until the completion of the works.

Normal working hours will be between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

During the road closure, HGV and local traffic will be diverted via local roads using a signed one-way diversion route. Through traffic, which would normally use Ironbridge Road, will be diverted via Much Wenlock and Buildwas.

Inevitably there will be some disruption and delays during these works. We thank people for their understanding and co-operation during the works so that we can be as efficient, and cause as little inconvenience, as possible.

The work will be carried out of behalf of Shropshire Council by Kier, and supervised by WSP.
