Full day of free fun for all the family at Severn Valley Country Park

Bug hunts, wildflower walks, pond dipping and fascinating fossils are all on offer at a family fun day being held at Severn Valley Country Park near Alveley this Saturday (18 June 2022).

The Shropshire Council-run countryside park is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and has planned a full day of free activities to entice visitors to discover its treasures and attractions.

Saturday’s timetable starts with a 5km run routed in the park at 9am. People can also explore more about the natural world by taking part in a mammal discovery walk, bird spotting, a wildflower walk, pond dipping and a fossil hunt.

Park rangers and volunteers will be joined by geologists in the Geo Park, and the Geology Society, Severn Rivers Trust, Buglife, the RSPB and Alveley History Society will share their knowledge and expertise.

The Bridgnorth Ukulele Band will also be performing between midday and 2pm.
