Llawnt Bridge – temporary road closure from 14 December 2021

Related topics: Highways, transport and environmental maintenance / Partner organisations

Proposed bridge repair work requires the temporary closure of Llawnt Bridge, which carries the B4580 west of the Chateau to junction of Cleveland Cottage over the River Morda, starting on Tuesday 14 December 2021 and expected to take three days.

The repair work will involve parapet repairs, vegetation clearance, general pointing and minor drainage works.

Due to the nature of the repair work a road closure will be required between 9.30am and 4pm. While the road is closed, traffic will be diverted via the B4580, B4369, A495, A483, B5069 and B4580 by a signed diversion.

Access over the bridge for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will remain available throughout the works, and access to frontages will be maintained up to the bridge closure.

Inevitably there will be some disruption during these works, for which we apologise in advance.

The works will be carried out by the council’s term maintenance contractor Kier, with supervision being provided by WSP on behalf of Shropshire Council.
