Fans of Shrewsbury Market Hall are being urged to cast their vote in a national competition to find the country’s best market.

The indoor market, run in partnership by Shropshire Council and Shrewsbury Town Council, has become a favourite destination for people looking for independent traders, food and drink and is in the running to be named Britain’s Favourite Market 2022.

Kate Gittins, Shropshire Council’s market facilities manager, said:

“We last won the title in 2018 and our popularity has grown significantly since then.

“We have seen our tenants launch successful businesses here in the Market Hall and then go on to open their own premises having established a strong customer base through our visitors, so it is a perfect location to develop a new venture.

“The market is thriving and simply gets better and better every year with more and more fantastic new stalls and eateries opening but now we need support from our regulars to ensure the Market Hall is celebrated and recognised for the quality and creativity it brings.”
