Everyone in England is now able access two rapid coronavirus tests a week, after an extension of the Government’s testing programme.

The Lateral Flow Test kits, which can provide results in around 30 minutes, are available to collect for free at many locations.

Rachel Robinson, Shropshire Council’s director of public health, said:-

“Regular testing for people without symptoms is an important tool, alongside ‘hands, face, space, vaccinations and fresh air’, in allowing us to move safely forward as we ease out of the third Lockdown.

“People can take a test or collect their LFT home test kits at many locations across Shropshire, including libraries, sport centres and pharmacies. If you’re unable to collect a kit in person, you can order them for home delivery. To find out more visit https://www.shropshire.gov.uk/coronavirus/rapid-testing-in-shropshire/. Please do keep checking our website for further updates before attending.

“We’re also encouraging anyone who collects a home testing kit to complete a test on site to gain an understanding of what they need to do.”

People with COVID-19 symptoms should NOT take a rapid test. Instead, please stay at home and book a PCR test online at www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or call 119.

Self-isolate for 10 days if you or any member of your household receive a positive test. Self-isolate for longer if your symptoms do not go away
