Work to transform an important gateway into Oswestry is under way – paving the way for highly-skilled jobs and smoother journeys.

Shropshire Council’s growth programme manager Hayley Owen appeared on the latest edition of Shropshire Business Live TV to tell host Carl Jones all about the work taking place at the Mile End roundabout.

The repurposing will ease congestion, improve the gateway to the town and open up land for the proposed Oswestry Innovation Park.

Shropshire Council has accessed funds from the Housing Infrastructure Fund (HIF) through Homes England and the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) for this project.

She was joined on the show, which can be viewed above, by Emma Wilde, from WSP, which designed the scheme, with Balfour Beatty carrying out the work.

Hayley said:

“It was great to appear on Shropshire Business Live TV to keep everyone up to date about the latest work taking place in Oswestry.

“We have taken some exciting steps forward with the project recently and it was great to see for myself how much things are progressing.

“We are determined to make this a really vital part of Oswestry and it will being high quality jobs, homes and opportunities to the town.”
