Related topics: Leisure, culture and heritage / Partner organisations

Shropshire Council has recently provided grant funding to six arts organisations in the county:

  • Arts Alive and Flicks in the Sticks
  • Ignition Create CIC
  • Ludlow Fringe Festival
  • MediaActive Projects
  • Pentabus Theatre
  • The Hive.

The funding is supporting a huge amount of high-quality arts activity.

Over the next 12 months communities from across Shropshire will have the opportunity to get involved in a range of exciting face to face, online and digital arts activities. It’s estimated over 62,000 people will benefit, as either participants or audience members.

The funding will help provide employment opportunities for nearly 1,500 local artists and support organisations to secure investment from other grants, contributing towards the county’s cultural economy.

Hannah Prior, Director at Ignition CIC, said:-

“This funding will allow us to deliver a bespoke programme of creative family days for children and young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) at Severn Valley Country Park. The sessions will have a positive impact on the wellbeing of the children, young people and families taking part. We really appreciate the support of Shropshire Council and are excited to be working in partnership with the Outdoor Partnerships team.”
