Ollie Ollerton – star of SAS Who Dares Wins – confirmed for Virtual Leadership Conference 2020
Ollie Ollerton, former special forces officer and star of Channel 4’s “SAS Who Dares Wins”, will speak at the Virtual Leadership Conference, an online event taking place on Wednesday 4 November 2020.
The conference, organised by Shropshire HR, part of Shropshire Council, will be the first of its type to take place virtually, building on the success of last year’s conference held in Shrewsbury.
Drawing on experiences from his action-packed career to date, Ollie will deliver a presentation and workshop focusing on the importance of leadership, teamwork and mental resilience whilst operating in pressurised environments. He is joined by fellow speakers Rita Clifton CBE, global branding guru, and Kelda Wood, paralympic GB athlete and adventurer.
The purpose of the conference is to help delegates to engage, inspire and motivate staff in these challenging times. Keynote speakers will reflect upon what each of their extensive careers have taught them about leadership, resilience, effective branding and marketing, as well as exploring more challenging topics such as mental health.
The conference will be fully interactive with delegates having the chance to partake in a live Q&A session with the speakers.
Tickets cost £30 and can be booked by visiting www.tlcshrews.co.uk. All content will be available for delegates to access for one week after the event.
Sam Williams, Shropshire Council’s head of workforce and organisational development, said:
“This will be the first virtual conference hosted by Shropshire HR and we’re determined to make it as effective and enjoyable as if it were in-person. We’re so pleased to be able to host an event in 2020 despite the obvious hurdles. It’s a fantastic chance to bring current and aspiring leaders together to motivate them, inspire them and build on the success of last year’s leadership conference.”
Lee Chapman, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for organisational transformation and digital infrastructure, said:-
“It’s great to have another incredible line up of speakers for The Leadership Conference, each of whom will bring something unique and exciting. This conference and the wider work of Shropshire HR is an example of how Shropshire Council is innovating and transforming the way we do business. A key priority identified within our Corporate Plan is to ensure Shropshire is a good place to do business, and having an event of this calibre supports that aim.
Whilst I’m sure it is disappointing to some that the physical conference couldn’t take place, the beauty of this online alternative is that people can attend from anywhere in the country, or indeed the world!”
Ollie Ollerton, former special forces soldier and star of SAS Who Dares Wins
A man with military-grade mental strength, Ollie Ollerton is taking the motivational speaking circuit by storm. His expertise is fuelled by a career in the military, where he came face to face with terrorists in Iraq. Though Ollie’s experiences taught him the value of staying calm under pressure, it also left him with an alcohol addiction and depression, both of which he has since overcome with mindfulness. Ollie now uses his speaking to share his story, offering audiences insight into the resilience and mental robustness needed to fight not just active gunfire, but your own mental battles too.
