It’s exciting times for Cornovii Developments Limited as they start working on their first housing development at Frith Close in Monkmoor, Shrewsbury, after the scheme secured planning permission in August this year.

The Frith Close housing development will offer a high quality housing scheme to satisfy the needs and aspirations of those wanting to own their own home within walking distance of Shrewsbury town centre, as well as providing new affordable homes for rent.

The development, consisting of 33 properties, will offer a range of high-quality 2, 3 and 4 bedroom detached and semi-detached homes and 1 and 2 bedroom bungalows. The first homes will be released and available to reserve from spring 2021, with the vision for buyers to move in from August 2021.

About Cornovii Developments Limited

Cornovii Developments Limited is a private company wholly owned by Shropshire Council, established to deliver unmet housing need across Shropshire.

Through our activities we aim to enhance environmental sustainability and reduce carbon emissions from build into occupancy. All homes will be built to nationally described space standards, ensuring residents have the space they need to enjoy their homes. Our fabric first approach to design and construction will optimise the thermal efficiency of homes, reducing carbon emissions and saving our customers money on energy bills. We are ambitious to incorporate innovative and modern build technology and construction methods into our development programmes and are exploring opportunities to build homes with tech enabled features that will give older residents the freedom to remain living independently for longer.

We have a healthy pipeline of development sites across the county to bring forward the right type of homes to satisfy housing need within Shropshire. Our aim is to develop approximately 200 homes per year, specifically increasing provision of 2 and 3 bedroom affordable homes.
