Coronavirus: Online risk assessment training for Shropshire businesses that are reopening

Related topics: Coronavirus / Health / Partner organisations / Public protection

Support is available to Shropshire businesses who need guidance when producing their mandatory COVID-19 risk assessment ahead of more reopening from Saturday 4 July 2020.

Under the guidance issued by the Government, those businesses planning to reopen from Saturday 4 July 2020 must produce a COVID-19 risk assessment to ensure they can openly safely.

To help businesses in Shropshire who are worried about producing a risk assessment or maybe don’t know how to complete one, Shropshire Council has negotiated a 10% discount for local businesses to use against a low-cost, online COVID-19 risk assessment course. The council wants to ensure that businesses are able to successfully complete their risk assessments, to ensure the safety of staff and customers and to minimise the possibility of future enforcement action.

COVID-19: Business Reopening, developed, written and narrated by the respected Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner, Dr Lisa Ackerley for RHE Global, shows businesses how to carry out a COVID-19 risk assessment in the workplace.

The course guides you through the process of working out how to put into place control measures to keep staff, visitors and customers safe.

Regardless of the nature or size of your businesses, this easy-to-follow course includes a narration, useful templates, signs and a guidance document to download.

The course is aimed at businesses, proprietors, managers, those with health and safety responsibilities and those helping businesses to comply.

The course lasts around an hour and can be completed at the learner’s own pace. The advertised cost of this training is £25 (+VAT) but use the code SHROPSHIRE10 in the promotional field in the third section of the booking form to take advantage of this offer (nb the code is case sensitive). A CPD certificate will be awarded on completion.

In addition, Shropshire Council has also produced a toolkit for businesses to offer them a guide on reopening of key sectors of businesses and the precautions that should be taken to ensure COVID-19 secure operation: https://www.shropshire.gov.uk/business-support/reopening-your-business-in-shropshire-a-toolkit/
