Changes to bus stops and routes in Shrewsbury town centre

Related topics: Highways, transport and environmental maintenance

High Street and Shoplatch in Shrewsbury are closed from 11am to 6pm each day to aid social distancing, meaning the bus shelters on High Street, Shoplatch and Barker Street will be out of service during these times and many services will follow a different route into, through and out of the town centre.

Instead, buses that would normally use High Street, Shoplatch and Barker Street will operate as follows:

  • Arriva services 1 , 8, 27, X4 and X5 will use St John’s Hill.
  • Arriva services 3a, 19, 19a, 21, 23, 26, 436, 544, 546; Harlescott park and ride;  Minsterley Motors 435 Ludlow service, and Lakeside Coaches 540 Cardington service can now use temporary bus stops at St Chad’s Terrace and Lower Claremont Bank.
  • Harlescott park and ride will pick up/drop off at Castle Street, St Mary’s Place and Dogpole – then go down Wyle Cop, around the gyratory, up Town Walls and down Claremont Bank.

And remember, you must wear a face covering if travelling by bus.
