When the organisation had to vacate their previous premises under Shrewsbury’s Market Hall, a new venue was sought.  With the support of the Centre’s management, the premises, which had been empty for several years, became available and the unit has now been turned into a bright art gallery exhibiting work made by over forty artists and makers from Shropshire.

Paintings, prints, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, photographs, jewellery and cards are all showcased in the new VAN Street Gallery.

Miles Kenny, chair of VAN, said:

“We are so pleased that the Darwin Shopping Centre management have found us our new gallery to replace our old one on Shoplatch.

“We have a rich variety of works of art on display from local artists available to view and buy and members of the public are already snapping them up.”

The gallery is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4.30pm.

The Visual Art Network is a charitable trust, membership organisation run entirely by volunteers, which aims to promote the value of Visual Arts to and in the community and to develop public access, interest and understanding of the Visual Arts.

The network welcomes new members. More details about the organisation and how to join can be found on the VAN website at www.visualartnetwork.org.uk or by emailing admin@visualartnetwork.org.uk.
