Free parking on offer in Shropshire towns this Christmas

As in previous years, Shropshire Council is providing free parking in a number of Shropshire towns on certain days in the run-up to Christmas – plus free use of Park & Ride in Shrewsbury and Ludlow.

The dates, times and locations of the offers – by town – are as follows:

Bridgnorth
When? Friday 23 November for the Christmas lights switch-on event
The offer: Innage Lane, Smithfield and Severn Street car parks – free from 2pm

Church Stretton
When? Saturday 24 November, for the Christmas lights switch-on and Mayfair Frost Fair
The offer: Easthope 1 to 4 car parks – free from 2pm

Ellesmere
When? Friday 30 November for the Winter Festival
The offer: Cross Street, Talbot Street and Spar Bridge car parks – free from 2pm

Ludlow
When? Tuesday 4, 11, and 18 December – ‘Tinsel Tuesdays’
The offer:
– Park and Ride – free from 12 noon
– Smithfield, and Galdeford A and B car parks – free from 12noon.

Market Drayton
When? Saturday 17 November, for the Christmas Festival and lights switch-on
The offer: Queen Street; Towers Lawn 1; Towers Lawn 2 car parks – free from 2pm

Shrewsbury
When? Every Wednesday, from 14 November to 19 December, for the Christmas lights switch-on and late-night shopping.
The offer
– Park & Ride – free from 12 noon, and extended until 9pm.
– Frankwell Main; Abbey Foregate car parks – Free parking from 3pm
– Raven Meadows multi-storey – half-price parking from 3pm until midnight

Wem
When? Friday 7 December – for the Christmas festival and lights switch-on.
The offer: High Street, Mill Street and Leek Street – free from 2pm

Whitchurch
When? Saturday 24 November – the day of the Christmas festival and lights switch-on.
The offer: Newtown; Castle Hill; St John’s Street; Pepper Street; Brownlow Street car parks – free from 2pm

Note: in Oswestry we’ve agreed to let te Festival Square car park be used for the Christmas Live event on Saturday 7 December.
