Murivance and Town Walls in Shrewsbury to close for resurfacing

Related topics: Highways, transport and environmental maintenance

Murivance and Town Walls in Shrewsbury (including Kingsland Bridge, Swan Hill, Quarry Place and St John’s Hill) will be closed for resurfacing from Monday 29 October for approximately one week, as part of town centre improvement works being carried out under the Shrewsbury Integrated Transport Package (SITP).

See our press release from 28 August for more information about this phase of work.

During this time the road will be closed to vehicles with access maintained to residents and local businesses only. No through traffic will be permitted and signed diversion routes will be provided where necessary. Traffic management personnel will be posted at each closure point to assist with access.

As the work is weather dependent and part of a larger overall programme it may be subject to unforeseen delays.

Every effort will be made to keep any disruption to a minimum and we thank people for their understanding while this important work is carried out.

Further information and a detailed drawing of the closure and diversion can be found at shropshire.gov.uk/sitp.
