Parent and carers are invited to bring their children to the Darwin Centre in Shrewsbury on Saturday 10 November from 11am to 3pm to make Christmas lanterns with Maggie Love, in preparation for the town’s Lantern Parade on the evening of Wednesday 14 November.

The workshops are on the middle level, next to Poundland. The Parade will leave from the same place at 6pm the following Wednesday, to join the town centre Christmas lights switch-on celebrations.

Maggie Love said:

“Come along to our fun, free workshop and create your own festive Lantern! Then, on 14 November, join us for a spectacular parade through the town with your magical creations, starting in the Darwin Centre and culminating in the Shrewsbury Christmas Lights Switch On.”

Kevin Lockwood, Shrewsbury shopping centres manager, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome Maggie and her team to the Darwin Centre for what promises to be a popular and fun way for children to kick-off the festive season.”
