News from our partners Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH)

More than 99 per cent of patients needing a diagnostic test at Shropshire’s two acute hospitals received one within six weeks, it’s been confirmed.

This key target has been met every single month since February 2017, with the latest figures revealing that 99.81% of patients received a diagnostic test within six weeks at  Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH).

This is an improvement of 0.15% on the previous month, with the Endoscopy Department ensuring the target was achieved 100% of the time while seeing more than 1,500 patients.

Nigel Lee, Chief Operating Officer at SaTH, said:

“Our staff have worked incredibly hard to achieve these notable results; helping even more patients in need of urgent/emergency care. We are very proud of the good standards of care we continue to provide.”

The six-week diagnostic target measures waiting times for the 15 key diagnostic tests – including MRI scans, CT scans, audiology assessments, echocardiograph and colonoscopies – and forms part of the NHS Constitution.
