Shropshire Council has welcomed the gift of a clock from Oswestry-based clock manufacturers Newgate.

It is approximately 45cm (18ins) in diameter, and has a dark blue face and a gold surround, hands, numbers and lettering.

Councillor Hartley said:

“I was delighted when Newgate generously offered to produce a clock and donate it to Shropshire Council, and I thank them on behalf of the council.

“This fabulous new clock now takes pride of place in the Chairman’s office, where I hope it will be seen by visitors and dignitaries for many years to come.

“As well as being a lovely clock to look at, I hope it will help to demonstrate to visitors the breadth and quality of manufacturing companies that we have here in Shropshire, of which Newgate is just one excellent example.”
