News from our partners Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Telford & Wrekin CCG

People in Shropshire, and Telford and Wrekin, are being asked to share their experiences of local cancer services at a special afternoon tea.

Anyone who’s been affected by cancer, whether that’s directly or as a family member or friend of someone who has received a diagnosis is welcome to attend The Wakes, Oakengates on Tuesday 27 March 2018 with the Telford and Wrekin and Shropshire Cancer Group.

Volunteers whose role is related to cancer services are also welcome to share their views and experiences.

Dr Jo Leahy, GP and Chair of NHS Telford and Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), said:

“One in two people will be affected by cancer at some point in their life, so we want to make sure that our local services are providing people with the support they need.

“It’s also really important that we’re talking about cancer, whether that be the early signs and symptoms, or helping each other through treatment and recovery.”

Telford and Wrekin and Shropshire Cancer Group comprises of Shropshire CCG, Telford and Wrekin CCG, Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust, Shropshire Council, Telford and Wrekin Council, Macmillan Cancer Support, and Cancer Research UK.
