Current status of Shropshire Council buildings: Monday 11 December (2pm)

In light of the current weather situation, Shropshire Council is open for business as usual, albeit working with skeleton staff. However there are a number of our public buildings across the county not in operation today, due to the severe snow and ice conditions.

Council buildings OPEN (but operating with skeleton staff):

Shrewsbury

• Shirehall – open from 8.45am to 4pm now
• Shrewsbury Community Hub, Castle Gates  – open until 5pm
• Theatre Severn – has no performances today – Box Office open as normal http://www.theatresevern.co.uk/
• Quarry Swimming Pool – open until 6pm

Oswestry

• Castle View – open
• The Centre – open
• Oswestry Community Hub, Oswestry library – open until 5pm
• Oswestry Leisure Centre open until 6pm

Bridgnorth and surrounding area

• Cantern Brook – open
• Bridgnorth Customer Service point – open until 5pm
• Severn Valley Country Park – open

Whitchurch 

• Whitchurch Customer Service Point at the Civic Centre – open, but run by Whitchurch Town Council staff. Self-serve facilities are available.
• Whitchurch swimming pool – open till 6pm.

Shrewsbury and surrounding area

• The Gateway Learning and Education Centre
• Abbots Wood day services
• Aquamira day services
• Albert Road day services
• Greenacres farm near Baschurch
• Shrewsbury Sports Village, Sundorne
• Meole Brace Golf Course
• Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery – is usually closed on a Monday; however, the museum is planning to be open for the rest of the week.
• Shrewsbury Castle
• Roman Road Sports Centre – due to open Tuesday.

Oswestry

• Maesbury Metals day services

• Avalon day services 

Market Drayton 

• Market Drayton Customer Service Point, Cheshire Street
