Many of our buildings are open today and the council remains open for business across the county, although some staff are not operating from their usual work location.

Our staff have worked tirelessly over the weekend to keep people moving and care for our most vulnerable residents, and continue to do so.

In light of the latest forecast for continued cold weather, we are once again advising our staff not to travel tomorrow (Tuesday 12 December 2017) unless they feel it is safe to do so.

As we’ve previously said, we have rehearsed this many times and our business continuity plans have been in place since Friday 8 December afternoon, allowing us to operate our services wherever we are.

We ask that you continue to be patient with us, and we encourage you not to contact our Customer Service Centre for the next couple of days, unless you have a weather-related issue that needs dealing with urgently, or it’s an emergency.

We expect all to be back to normal by Wednesday 13 December as the weather gets warmer, but in the meantime, for service specific updates, please visit our website or listen to BBC Radio Shropshire.
