This is the latest in a series of litterpicks in Bridgnorth which began in October and November 2017. The public, Shropshire Councillors and Bridgnorth Town Councillors attended the events to help tidy up our beautiful town, and between them collected approximately 40 sacks of waste of various litter, including bagged dog waste, a pushchair and other household items.

The litterpicks cover a mixture of both commercial and residential areas.

Two local residents, Christine Webster and Phil Webster, are keen to continue the litterpicks on a monthly basis and would like to invite residents to join them to help keep Bridgnorth neat and tidy. The more people that get involved, the more litter can be collected.

Steve Davenport, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member responsible for environmental maintenance, said:

“We hope people will come along and get involved in their community litterpick, even if you have only half an hour to spare. This is a great opportunity to tidy Bridgnorth, and the more people that get involved the bigger the impact will be.

“Our teams are committed to improving Shropshire’s environment and I am delighted that we are continuing to support these initiatives.”

Les Winwood, a local Shropshire Councillor for Bridgnorth West and Tasley, said:-

“I wish to thank all those that have attended and all those who cover other areas in Bridgnorth, helping to make a difference in our community. Let’s hope we can continue and I encourage more to take part.”
