Shrewsbury Folk Festival in Shrewsbury starts tomorrow (Friday 25 August 2017) and ends on Monday (28 August), with many thousands of people expected to make their way to and from the County Showground on Berwick Road during this period.

Traffic is expected to be heavy, particularly on Friday morning (25 August) between 7am and 1pm when high volumes of traffic are anticipated on Ellesmere Road, Coton Hill and Berwick Road. It is therefore advisable for drivers to use alternative routes during this time.

On Saturday (26 August) the Folk Festival Parade starts at The Castle at about 1.30pm and makes its way through the town centre to The Square. Town centre roads will be closed for short durations whilst the parade takes place.
