The Local History Centre was created in 2007, as part of the Discover Shropshire project in partnership with Shropshire Archives, to bring together a number of local and family history resources to libraries across Shropshire.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that have helped us to make our history events a success over the past decade.

Our 2017 programme contains a diverse range of talks and activities to interest and inspire you and bring history to life.

Lezley Picton, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for culture and leisure, said:

“With the huge demand the public has in family and local history, having the help of volunteers and resources readily accessible in the library is ideal for those with an interest in the history of Bridgnorth and the surrounding area. We are extremely lucky to have such rich heritage on our doorstep.”
