University Centre Shrewsbury talk takes timely look at French politics

In the light of the recent victory for Emmanuel Macron in the race for the French presidency, a talk on Wednesday 17 May 2017 at 1pm will explore key political debates that have put France in the global spotlight.

In “From Battlefield to Burkini: A Journey into Franco-African History”, Professor Claire Griffiths will invite the audience to travel back through four centuries of French history in Africa to examine the roots of France’s role in today’s world.
