Decisions made by South planning committee on 4 April 2017

The following decisions were made by Shropshire Council’s South planning committee at its meeting at Shirehall, Shrewsbury on Tuesday 4 April 2017.

  • Hurst Barn, Clunton, Craven Arms, SY7 0JA (16/03334/EIA) Erection of 2No poultry sheds, feed bins, solar voltaic panels, ancillary equipment and alterations to vehicular access. Decision: Minded to approve as per the officer’s recommendation, and subject to: The conditions as set out in Appendix 1 to the report, subject to conditions being amended to ensure that external surfaces of the development shall be BS18B29; and a Legal Agreement to deliver off-site ecological mitigation measures to protect the Clun Catchment Special Area of Conservation as set out in Appendix 2 to the report. Delegated authority is given to officers to issue the decision subject to there being no further material new issues raised prior to expiry of the EIA Regulation 22 public re-consultation deadline on 16th April 2017.
  • Walkhamwood Farm, Faintree, Bridgnorth, WV16 6RQ (15/05330/EIA) Erection of 4No poultry units, feed bins, biomass boiler building, new access road, landscape and associated works. Decision: That, as per the officer’s recommendation, delegated authority be granted to the Planning Services Manager to grant planning permission, subject to: The conditions as set out in Appendix 1 to the report and the Schedule of Additional Letters, subject to conditions being amended to ensure that external surfaces of the development shall be BS18B29.
  • Agricultural building north west of Coombys Farm, Severn Side, Highley (16/04135/FUL) Change of use of agricultural buildings to 2 dwellings and installation of septic tank drainage (part retrospective). Decision: That, as per the officer’s recommendation, planning permission be granted subject to the conditions as set out in Appendix 1 to the report.
  • 17 Barrow Street, Much Wenlock, TF13 6EN (16/05706/COU) Change of use from A1 Class Use (retail) to A3 Class Use (restaurants/cafes) and use of garden for outside seating. Decision: That, as per the officer’s recommendation, planning permission be granted, subject to: The conditions set out in Appendix 1 of the report, together with the following additional landscaping condition: Within two months of the date of this permission a planting scheme to provide additional bush/shrub planting adjacent to the north eastern side of the garden/outside seating area, bordering Church Walk, shall be submitted to the Local Planning Authority for approval. The planting scheme shall include details of plant species, size at the time of planting, and the location and density of the planting, together with measures for their protection while they become established. The approved planting scheme shall be carried out in the first planting season following approval by the Local Planning Authority. Any plants which subsequently die, are removed or become seriously damaged or diseased shall be replaced with others of species, size and number as originally approved by the end of the first available planting season, unless the Local Planning Authority gives written consent to any variation. Reason: In the interests of safeguarding neighbour amenity and the character and appearance of the conservation area. And the following informative: The council would request that the operator of the tea room adopts a no smoking policy within the garden/outside seating area.
