Shropshire Council is encouraging local people to come along to their next Bridgnorth Worfield, Claverley, Alveley and Brown Clee Local Joint Committee (LJC) meeting to talk about the issues that matter to them.

The meeting is on Wednesday 8 March 2017 at7pm at The People’s Hall Evangelical Church, St John Street, Bridgnorth, WV15 6AG.

West Mercia Police local policing team and Shropshire Fire and Rescue will be present to provide an update on local policing and community safety issues.

Penny Bason from Shropshire Council’s public health team Tom Brettell from Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Group will be delivering a presentation on the Healthy Lives Programme and Resilient Communities.

Karen Calder, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for health and well-being, said:-

“I am very pleased that the current round of LJCs are focussing on health and well-being. Shropshire Council is committed to working in partnership with our communities and other services to improve the health and well-being of people living in Shropshire. Some of the conversations being had at a local and national level can be distracting. I believe strongly that by working together in localities, we can concentrate on what is important to people, what motivates people to adopt healthy lifestyles, and how services can support people to do this. Please come along to join us for this conversation.”

Councillor Christian Lea, Chairman of the LJC, said:-

“Health and well-being is an important issue for everyone, however old you are. Living a healthy lifestyle can help prevent you becoming susceptible to certain illnesses in later years, as well as enabling you to enjoy an active life on a daily basis. This meeting should be of interest to many local residents and I look forward to some lively conversation at the meeting.”

This is an open public meeting so everyone is more than welcome to attend.
